Do you take my insurance?
If you have a benefit that allows you to choose your dentist, we can help you use it with us. We have many insurance patients, but we are not a discounted provider. Our administrative staff will assist in maximizing your insurance benefits.
Is Dr. Timmerman a cosmetic specialist?
Cosmetic dentistry is not recognized as a professional specialty, and any doctor can claim to be a cosmetic dentist. This puts the burden on you, the patient, to do your homework and determine if your chosen dentist is capable. One way to interview a potential cosmetic dentist is to ask for proof – photos of his or her cosmetic cases, not photos from a purchased catalog. Testimonials from satisfied patients also offer proof. Training in cosmetic, also called esthetic or aesthetic, dentistry from recognized institutions is important, too.
Dr. Timmerman has earned hundreds of hours in cosmetic training from the acclaimed Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. As a graduate of LVI, he has attained a training travel that less than two percent of American dentists have achieved. Do you only do cosmetics?
While Dr Timmerman is highly trained and experienced with cosmetic dentistry, our practice is a general dental practice and can offer all types of dental care. Find out how we can serve the dental needs of your entire family by visiting our services page or contacting us to schedule a consultation.
Do you see children?
We love children. In fact, Dr. Timmerman has three daughters whom he loves very much and enjoys seeing their friends. Sometimes children need special help, and we have a great relationship with a local pediatric dentist who can provide that extra effort when it’s needed.
Is Dr. Timmerman a TMJ specialist?
There is no specialty for treating TMJ disorders, so any dentist can limit a practice to TMJ disorders and claim to be a specialist. Similar to cosmetic dentistry, you must do some homework to learn if the dentist you’re considering has training and experience to actually help you.
TMJ care is controversial, and many passionate opinions exist on how to best treat a person’s condition. It is important to understand the methods, philosophy, and training a dentist has before you begin care.
Dr. Timmerman has spent many hours learning how to treat jaw problems and uses sophisticated computerized equipment to accurately treat his patients.
I have medical insurance and a TMJ condition. Do you bill medical?
We ask for payment in full, and we give you the completed medical forms to submit for a refund. We have unique software to help us process medical forms for you.
Do you make payment plans?
We don’t bill. By eliminating billing in our office, Dr. Timmerman can focus on your care, control our costs, and keep our fees at the right levels. In addition, we work with several companies that can help you with a payment plan to fit your budget.
How is your office different?
Since we don’t treat more than one patient at a time, we can focus our attention on each person individually. You will find our office relaxed and slow paced. We aim to make a comfortable dental experience for each person.
If you have so much technology, does that mean you are expensive?
Our fees are based on our experienced care, skill, and judgment. Technology allows us to save time and money, and this means the work you need is less expensive than it otherwise would be.
While some patients initially felt our fees were high, they found that the experience and the results were worth it, and they gladly refer their friends to us. In fact, we have had people return to us after learning less expensive alternatives weren’t just economically cheap, but also of cheap quality.
